  5. Import your Microsoft Project 2003 files
  1. Easy customization and integration
We know that no "Out of the Box" program is going to be perfect for your business, so we are more then willing to add the features you need to run your business at its best. Since we are a small business this is a service we can offer at a lower cost then a big company would charge.

Since our application is written in Java using Hibernate, you can run our application on ANY platform, using ANY server, and using ANY backend database. Since the software is web based, you can quickly access it from ANY computer with an internet connection and a web browser.

  2. Personalized work summaries that keep employee's working efficiently
When an employee logs in they are brought directly to their own customized homepage. Here they can quickly access the tasks on their plate, and prioritize their work accordingly.

Here's an example of the first table user Danae views when she logs in:

As you can see from this table, all of the columns can be sorted by clicking the table headers, and the entire table can be exported as well.

By clicking on a task name or id, the employee can view all the details related to a task, including everything needed to complete it.

  3. Forces employees into good documentation habits
All comments and/or work documented on a task are saved in the task history, so they can be easily referenced at any time. Not only does this create a great location for team collaboration, but it also adds to your database of known problems and solutions. Below is an example of what a task's history might look like:

As you can see here not only are comments stored on a task, but every time a field is modified the old and the new value are stored in the comment.

  4. Track task hours estimated / hours logged
Recently we added two new time related fields to task properties. Managers can now input the number of hours they estimate a task will take, and users can now log hours they spent working on the task. The screen below shows the hours logged table found on a task page:

Two other features that help logging hours are the employee Timecard View, which gives a summary of where an employee has spent his/her hours, and the Quick Hours feature, which allows employees to conveniently enter hours from their main page (homepage).

  5. Import your Microsoft Project 2003 files
When Project 2003 came out Microsoft was smart enough to provide the ability to save your project as an XML file. Taking this xml file we can import all of your data straight into our tool. Below is an image of a Microsoft Project file:

Importing this project into our program, not only records the task names, durations, and start/end dates, but it also maps the predecessors and Resource Names correctly. Check it out:
